Lake Days

I wish that title could be "Lazy Lake Days" but times are busy at the Erickson household before the crunch of the move really gets us running. Laura has been busy sorting through everything--the plus side of a move--and next week I will be over helping to box up the "last minute" items, of which there are quite a few. Meanwhile, the way I can always help my daughter is to do something that I don't mind but she does--LAUNDRY, capitalized because it is always very large and takes up your attention. The residue, of course, is orphan socks. Where do they come from and where are their families? Has anyone out there seen our missing ones?

Tootsie, the oh-so-cute tortoise, was on the loose in Quinn's room for a little exercise. She tries to find a corner to hide in so Laura will forget that she is out and leave her roaming. She has a little enclosure that we can use to put her out on the grass, but she is a real escape artist and has been known to get out and be missing for days before mysteriously reappearing. She should have been named Houdini. She may even be a he for all we know. We couldn't resist giving her a little lift on the way back to her cage. Tootsie the Flying Tortoise!

An evening on the lake with a bag of wine: Can things get any better? Did you know that when your box of wine gets low, you can remove the bag and milk it for every last drop? Hey, just being economical here. Ken isn't so sure about how this will look to the neighbors.
