Destination Imagination Progress

This year Laura's DI team chose the structure challenge again. This time, however, the requirements for the structure are quite different. It must be made of three items from a list of possibilities; it will be evaluated on ratio of weight supported to weight of the structure; it must survive a ramming from the side at periodic intervals which means that it must be flexible as well as strong and light. James is the structure specialist of the team and he is now working with different materials and designs to build the structure. Meanwhile, the team has written their play, and Quinn and Kristen have been building the set while James has been creating the Statue of Liberty. New York City is represented by many of its iconic buildings. The Empire State Building will even have King Kong clinging to it. Hot glue and duct tape are the two essentials in the architectural tool bag of these children. I'll bet they will have the only Saks Fifth Avenue wheels in the contest!
