Boating to County Line

Our days of stepping out the door and into the boat are limited. At the end of January, Laura and Ken will move to a house in Rollingwood. The new house will have the advantage of being only minutes away from downtown, and they will still have their boat docked on Lake Austin but lake outings will not be as convenient as they have been at Troll Haven.

Yesterday was a perfect day to jump in the boat and take off to a favorite location for dinner--County Line, situated right on a small cove of Lake Austin just on the other side of the 360 bridge. The cove is famous for its large turtle population. A favorite occupation of the children at County Line is to net (and release) turtles. Turtle, however, is not on the menu. This is a BBQ and beer kind of place with lots of outdoor seating (heaters for "winter"), a little music, aaahhhh.
