On Saturday Campbell competed in a golf tournament in Kyle, a small city on the connecting corridor between Austin and San Antonio. As is customary, Ken caddied for him. He shot an 81, which I am told is an excellent score, and won second place in the tourney. The first place winner was a high schooler who shot an 80.
Campbell gets in a lot of golf practice since he can substitute golfing for P.E. in middle school. Every day after school, he and a friend go directly to the Lost Pines Club and play for about two hours. Over the past two years a favorite occupation at the Lake House has been to hit golf balls across the lake, and Campbell can now almost always drive that ball to the other side. Next year C will be on the golf team at Westlake High School. He is on his way!

Congratulations Campbell!!!! Great form too! Can't wait to see you on the tour some day!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Campbell!!! Robert and Lisa 's son McCloud plays middle school golf too - maybe they will meet on the circuit one day!! By the way Diana, we came home to plenty of rhubarb so I made up a batch of your rhubarb-blueberry jam yesterday. Yum!
