If it is Sunday we must be in Louisiana. . .Mississippi?. . .Alabama?. . .Florida?. . .All of the above! After Lena cooked fancy pancakes for us, we said our goodbyes and headed east. One of the amazing things about a very boring drive across Louisiana is a long elevated roadway that rises above the swamps, bayous, rivers, and general WETNESS of the south of Louisiana. This is Interstate 10 so the road is packed with traffic, especially trucks. It can be quite a problem if there is a wreck or some other obstruction on this road because there is no service road or any access/exit for a long stretch. We sailed right over it but fought a strong Wyoming-worthy-wind for our whole trip. Later we heard that tornadoes had touched down in Mississippi just north of our route. Large cities that we went through were Baton Rouge, Biloxi, and Mobile. After the convolutions of Houston, they didn't seem bad at all. Mobile had an interesting tunnel that went down, down, down (apparently under a waterway that we couldn't see) and then up, up, up to the light. Finally we went over a bridge and found ourselves in Florida. It wasn't far at all to our RV park where we got set up and ready for the week. We are pleased with the park and even more pleased that we can walk to an Oyster Bar for dinner in the evening. We have discovered that we can eat at the bar and watch our favorite shows (if no one else is around).
