McGuire's and Patti's

Oh, for a bit of Shepherd's Pie, my daughters are saying right now. Well, today it was on the menu. Don't get too excited! The Vollmers and the Larsons came by to see our place. That took about two minutes; then we headed downtown to a well-known Irish place called McGuire's. Yum! I had a drink that came in a quart jar. Oh, those Irish are such devils! Bean soup is 18 cents unless you don't order anything else, in which case it is $18. Dollar bills with names written on them coat the ceiling. At one time one of the rooms had bras hanging from the ceiling. We went looking for it (no, not to contribute) but apparently they have decided that dollar bills are more. . .family friendly? I simply had to try the bread pudding. Delish! An old favorite with an Irish touch.

After lunch we drove to a famous fish market down on the docks. Too bad we were too full to find the foods appealing because this place is a gem. It was packed with people from all different classes, races, and walks of life--even people from South Dakota! I found the gentleman sitting on the stool dispensing numbers for service to be interesting. A Walmart greeter with a purpose, he kept everyone honest. The bird life around this place plus the boats gave me plenty of photo opportunities. What did I do before I had my smart phone??? Maybe not annoy people quite so much. . .
